Giving Shakespeare a Stage

Looking into the Performance Area

Saturday saw the end of the 10 day run of Shakespeare's 'A Comedy of Errors' performed by Eastbourne Operatic & Dramatic Society in the open air at the Italian Gardens, Eastbourne.

The public gardens are transformed into a theatrical space for the 3 week production and performance period with the shows playing to 278 audience members a night.

SEL supply a temporary electrical system

(running from land power) for running the catering and back of house infrastructure as well as site and emergency lighting.

We then provide a generator and run a 63A/3ph supply for the theatrical lighting system.

As well as site electrics we supply all the trussing required to suspend the theatrical lighting system. This year the structure was a 15m x 8m U shaped construction on 4m legs. The Lighting for the show was designed by Ryan Tate & the equipment supplied by White Light Ltd.

We wish to congratulate EODS on another fantastic run of shows at Holywell. Only one performance was cancelled due to weather but the others continued in some challenging conditions. Looking forward to 'A Midsummer Nights Dream' in 2018!
